I’ve always
enjoyed
driving
music loud
momentum
reminding
mortality
that I do
indeed
exist
but my favorite
is that feeling of
knowing
that you’re going
somewhere
because
somewhere
gives you hope
somewhere
is a stranger
to the where
you’ve been
before
the where
you’ve been
that denies
new truth
new choice
the where
painted in the tire tracks
of your good intentions
that smells
of spent gasoline
fueled by the meals
you spent alone
looking
for yourself
in the cursive
of the lines
in your pocket sized
notebook
you see
somewhere
doesn’t know you
well enough
to hold
where
you’ve been
against you
somewhere
is a chance
for something
new
and somewhere
seems better
to me
than the
where
I’ve known before
so
I’ll keep driving
for now
at least
until somewhere
catches up to me…
