Honest Tea

silhouette couple dancing in the sunset.

If I wasn’t a coward,
I would tell you…

That the echo
in every breath
of your laughter,
slams my heart
rides the rhythm
of your gentle sighs
and nighty nights.

are my best friend…

So sit with me.

Let’s have a cup
of honest tea.

And figure out
oh yes we’ll see
exactly where
we’re meant to be.

And I know
that it makes
no damn sense
to feel this way.

But to be honest with you,

I’m tired of pretending
your voice
isn’t a force of nature.

Like gravity,
or electromagnetic attraction
I cannot find
the satisfaction
without approximation
to your chaos station
leave the four winds flow
so maybe…

I can pretend
that I don’t fall asleep
to the thought of your smile.

If I might speak honestly
of how very much
you mean to me,

I guess
from there,
we’d have to see.

where we’re meant to be.

If you’d like to buy me a coffee (which is always really nice), you can click that funky orange button in the corner. Thank you!
